Shipley Do-Nuts Inspired Christmas Ornament
Bring a little sweetness and nostalgia to your Christmas tree with the Shipley Do-Nuts Ornament, handcrafted by Mile High Studio at Red Rock.
Inspired by a donut shop that has become a tradition for generations of families, this whimsical ornament celebrates early-morning donut runs, weekend breakfast traditions, boxes of freshly glazed favorites, and the unmistakable experience of stopping by Shipley for something sweet.
Miniature bakery and shopping-inspired details are carefully arranged inside a crystal-clear ornament and finished with coordinating embellishments, a decorative bow, and a beaded hanger. Each ornament is individually assembled by hand, so slight variations in placement, texture, and finishing make every piece uniquely its own.

A Little Shipley History
The Shipley story began in Houston, Texas, in 1936, when Lawrence Shipley Sr. developed his recipe for hot, freshly made donuts. The original donuts were handmade and sold wholesale for just five cents a dozen. As their popularity grew, Shipley began selling directly to the public, establishing the foundation for what would become a multigenerational Texas tradition.
Lawrence Shipley Jr. later continued his father's work, helping expand the menu and grow the company beyond its Houston roots. Under the family's leadership, Shipley eventually expanded to more than 190 locations across six states.
Over the decades, the once-local Houston favorite continued moving into new communities throughout the South and beyond. By 2025, Shipley reported more than 385 locations across 13 states, with new locations that year opening in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
In 2026, Shipley celebrated its 90th anniversary. The company reported nearly 400 locations across 13 states, while continuing an aggressive expansion strategy into new markets. Recent growth has included locations and development in states such as Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Oklahoma, Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, Maryland, and Virginia, with additional expansion underway. Shipley has also announced its upcoming entry into Ohio and Michigan, continuing the transformation of a Houston-born donut shop into a growing national brand.
Through all that growth, Shipley's history remains closely tied to the simple idea Lawrence Shipley Sr. started with in 1936: serving fresh, handmade donuts that keep customers coming back.
